Destin Trip 2012

Memorial Day weekend we took a trip to Destin with some of our closest friend's, Brandon and Sheree Cobia. They have two of the sweetest kid's, Mason and Camryn. We left Tuesday afternoon, drove to Birmingham to their house and spent the night. Needless to say when we arrived the kid's were really excited.

Wednesday morning we left for Destin and arrived that afternoon. When we checked into our condo in Sandestin ( Tops'l Resort) the kid's were very excited to find bunk bed's.  This is what I found about five minutes after arriving. :)

Sheree fixed a delicious dinner Wednesday night and Thursday morning we headed out to the beach. Brody did really well. He loved the sand! He rolled in it several times and enjoyed playing with the buckets and shovels we had brought him. It was so special being there with him and making that memory of him seeing the ocean for the first time in his life. We took him out in the water a few times. At first he was a little intimidated by the waves, but after a while was ok.

He had such a fun time with Camryn and Mason! They are such good kid's and a great example to Brody of that way older kid's should act. Brandon and Sheree have done a great job raising them.

First family picture at the beach. This trip was extra special being the first time that we had brought Brody to the beach. It also brought back a lot of good childhood memories for me and going to the Gulf with family, and the many memories that Phillip and I have made going there. We are very fortunate to live so close!

Camryn ( 4 almost 5), Brody 1 almost 2), Mason (2 almost 3)

Love these shots of the kid's! I just love these kiddos so much! It's hard to believe how big they are getting. It seems like yesterday we were visiting Mason in the hospital after he was born, and bringing Brandon and Sheree a meal at home after they brought Camryn home from the hospital. How time truly does fly!

The guys were very thoughtful and let Sheree and I go out to the beach and lay out during the kid's nap times. It was so nice to get a break and get some sun at the same time! We have some pretty great husband's!

In the afternoon's after nap time we would take the kid's to the pool until dinner. They couldn't get enough of the pool and had a blast!

This was the first floaty we tried for Brody that didn't work well.

We got a puddle jumper floaty for Brody which was the same thing that Mason had and it seemed to work well for him. Once we put him in it, we were sold! It was awesome! He could float by himself and it gave him confidence being by himself in the water and not hanging on to us. We have been working with him on kicking his legs and moving his arms and trying to swim.

Love my sweet friend so much! She is one of those you know will be one of your best friend's your whole life!

Brody about to jump in the water to Daddy!

Cute girl!

One night we ate at one of our favorite restaurants, "The Back Porch." We love the food there and the atmosphere. It's right on the beach and there is such a nice view. We had a great night there!

Last day on the beach!

Brody decided to have a sit down in the sand. So, I left him there and he finally came.

Our condo was awesome. Our place was great, it was beautifully decorated and the pool was right outside.

Sweet boys!

My little boy loves his Daddy.

The last night we went to Baytowne Wharf. It was the neatest area with shops, kid's stuff, restaurants, live music, and lots of beautiful condos. It was like a little town. We had a great last night there!

Destin was such a great trip this year, we had a great time traveling with the Cobia's and look forward to many more vacations with them!
