This year was the year to spend Christmas with Phillip's side of the family. We traveled to Searcy Arkansas the day before Christmas Eve ( on Friday). We enjoyed our time there so much! Cathy had made a ton of delicious traditional dishes that she always makes at Christmas, so we enjoyed those all weekend. Saturday, we made our way to downtown Searcy where Phillip's Uncle Mike plays Santa every year. We got some great shots of Phillip's grandma Mimmie with Mike and some shots of Brody who was apparently terrified of Santa!

That afternoon the three of us went to Berryhill park to let Brody run off some energy and to play on the playground.

That night was Christmas Eve and Cathy made a delicious meal which included several wonderful pies, cakes, two different kinds of cheese balls, and all sorts of other wonderful dishes.
She did a beautiful job decorating her tree.
All the stockings were hung. Yes those are yardsticks given to each child from Danny. You never know when you might need a yardstick! We are always thankful for the practical stocking stuffers that Danny always gives us!

Brody is blessed to have wonderful grandparents. He had a great time with his Big Daddy and Mimma.
My Mimi gave each one of the grandchildren this beautiful plate last year for Christmas. It is for Santa's cookies. I took a picture of the cookies that Brody laid out for Santa so I could show her that we are using it.
Christmas Eve night Uncle Mike came over for dinner. We had a great time getting to visit with him.

We went to church after opening Brody's Santa presents, and then came home and ate lunch with Cathy's side of the family, Uncle Fred and Aunt Ruth, and Corey and Clayton. We had a great afternoon with them!

We came home Monday and on Tuesday Mom and Dad came up from Alabama ( where they had been for Christmas this year) to visit for a few days. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

This Christmas was so special. It was neat that Brody is at an age where he enjoyed it more. It was fun getting to watch him open his presents and enjoy playing with them. It just warms my heart so much to see him enjoying the holiday's as much as I did as a kid. I am so thankful for our sweet family of three and for our extended family. This time of year makes me appreciate them all so much. One of the biggest blessings of Christmas is getting to be with loved ones and make special memories and to remember Jesus's birth at this time of year and that that is what we are truly celebrating. I am so thankful for my favorite time of year!
