Texas Trip March 2013

The Friday before my birthday ( March 8) we woke up at 3 a.m. and headed to Texas. Leaving at this time has always worked well for us with Brody. We wake him up, put him in the car and then he sleeps for several hours. This really helps make the 12 hour trip go by a lot faster.
We made it to Dallas around 1and stopped by to see Mimi and Papa Martin. Brody had a great time visiting with them and still talks about them.

My sweet cousin Ashlie came by to give me my present and have a little birthday party for me.  It was so thoughtful of her, and just made my day! :)

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful cousin that I can call one of my best friends.

Brody loved seeing baby Audrey.

We got to Waco later that afternoon. Late Friday night Jamie and Cal drove in from OKC. The first thing Brody wanted to do when we got to Mom and Dad's was to ride Poppy's tractor. He's obsessed with that thing and every time we face time or skype with them he wants to see the tractor.

Saturday morning Dad took me out for a birthday breakfast, of course I requested Shipley's Donuts.
Later that day, me, Mom, and Jamie went and got mani and pedi's and went shopping for me some cowboy boots. Yes I am a Texan and this is the first time I have ever gotten cowboy boots! Thanks Mom and Dad for getting them for me.

The girls getting pampered. :)

We met the guys at Ninfa's that afternoon and ate an early dinner before going to the Baylor men's basketball game.

Cal, Brody, and Jamie. They are such a good Aunt and Uncle to Brody.

That night we went to the Baylor game. This was Brody's first basketball game he's attended. He loved it so much he still talks about it and now is a BIG Baylor Bears fan.

Brody absolutely ADORES his Poppy. He had a great time with him at the game.

After the game we went home and had ice cream cake ( one of my two favorite cakes, I love that and chocolate cake with chocolate icing).

Sunday morning we went to church with Mom and Dad, and of course got a family picture afterwards.

That afternoon we hung out outside before Jamie and Cal had to leave to go back home.

These two are like brothers from another mother. :)

Marmie bought Brody a kite that we flew for a while until the string broke.

Jamie and Cal left Sunday afternoon and drove back home to OKC. They had to be at work Monday morning, we were sad that they couldn't stay longer. It was great getting to spend the weekend with them!

Monday morning we drove with Mom and Dad to San Antonio! I have found memories of times there, but Phillip had never been so we decided to take a short road trip there.

We ate a delicious Mexican food lunch at Mi Tierra. It was some of the best Mexican food I had ever had!

Little man loves chips and salsa. He also enjoyed listening to the mariachi band.

Shopping at the Mexican Market.

Brody had a great time with Marmie and Poppie :)

After lunch we went to the river walk.

In front of the Alamo.

Monday night, Mom and Dad took Brody back to Waco and Phillip and I stayed in San Antonio. We ate on the river walk Monday night, and then Tuesday morning we took a tour of the Alamo.

Shopping on the river walk.

At lunch we ate more Mexican food of course :)

It was a great little get away for Phillip and I. We were very thankful for my parents taking care of Brody. On the way home, we stopped in Round Rock and shopped at Ikea and the outlet mall. We also ate dinner with Emily, Spencer, and Maddie. It was so good to see them!
