Memorial Day Weekend- South Carolina Trip!

For Memorial day weekend this year we decided to take a trip to Greenville, South Carolina. This city is home to some of our dearest friends, Cole and Allyson. They moved here in September of this past year for Cole to take on the role as worship minister at a church there. Cole and Allyson are expecting their first child in December. It was so exciting for us to see her pregnant! When we were there she was 12 weeks along. We are so excited for them to begin their journey as parents. They are so good with Brody and I know will be wonderful parents!
We arrived on Saturday around noon. It takes about 5 hours to get there from our house. We spent Saturday afternoon at their apartment pool hanging out. That evening Cole and Phillip got take out at a local restaurant and we watched a movie. It was a pretty low key day but so much fun getting to hang out with them!

Aunt Allyson and Brody getting ready to head to the pool!

She was glowing! It was exciting seeing her little belly bump!

We miss them so much!

Brody's first time to be in a outdoor pool. It was a perfect weekend for the pool!

Uncle Cole and Brody!

Brody loves the water. He kicks his feet a lot and splashes the water with his hands.

Sunday morning before we left for church. I love this hat on my little man :)

After church we had a group photo session. Here we were trying to get Brody to look at the camera!

This one turned out much better even though Brody is more interested in his daddy than the camera.

Cole and Phillip after church on Sunday morning. Cole did an awesome job leading worship. We love the church that they work for. Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly.  We are so proud of the good work that they are doing for the church there.

Sunday afternoon it was such a beautiful day outside that we decided to go swimming again! We had a blast!

Allyson and Brody about ready to head inside for the day.

One more pic before we go in!

Lol! He loves trying on my sunglasses!

That night we headed out to eat dinner and walk around downtown Greenville. We went to eat at a wonderful Tex Mex place called Don Pablo's, then we headed downtown.

A group shot before we left to go out to eat. I love this picture! Cole and Allyson are some of our best friends in the world. We love and appreciate them so much! We are thankful that even though they have moved we have been able to stay in touch with them. We miss them but know that God is doing big things through them in Greenville.

Greenville's downtown is so neat. There are trees that hang over the main street, neat little shops, restaurants where you can dine outside, and overall is pretty picturesque.
We got ice cream and walked by the river in the park that is downtown. There was a Shakespeare play going on in the park so we stopped and watched that for a while. That was neat, there were all of these people with lawn chairs and blankets watching this play. That area where the river is is beautiful! People are out there walking their dogs, riding bikes, or playing with their children. It is such a clean, nice outdoor area. We had a great time!

Phillip and I goofing around and taking a typical "engagement" shot. :)

Haha! This picture took a while to capture!

Big buddies!

Cole and Phillip had a little too much fun with this frame!

Me and Allyson eating ice cream, it was so delicious!

We woke up Monday morning Phillip and Cole watched a movie while Brody napped and the girls went to the pool again! After lunch we headed back home! It is a beautiful drive home because you go through the mountains of North Carolina which are so amazing. Phillip and I think it is so neat that we live so close to so many different states. We really enjoy traveling and seeing different parts of the country.
We had a great weekend in South Carolina! It was a fun but relaxing Memorial day weekend.
