The first weekend in November, I flew to Washington D.C. to visit my sweet cousin and one of my best friend's Ashlie. Her husband played this year for the Washington Redskins. It was so nice of Phillip to keep Brody for the weekend. It was so relaxing just getting to ride in an airplane by myself! I have been traveling by plane with Brody for the past two years and haven't flown completely alone without Phillip or Brody since he was born. The little things were very appreciated such as getting to watch movies that I wanted to watch, getting to ready celebrity magazines, and most of all enjoying my drink on the plane without worrying about a two year old paws going in the drink.
I flew in on Friday, and left on Sunday afternoon after the game. Friday night Jordan kept the kid's and Ashlie and I went to a movie which was a lot of fun having a girls night.
Since I had been to Washington D.C. before, I decided that on Satruday I wanted to do something that I had never done. So instead of a tour of D.C. we decided to go on a tour of Mt. Vernon.
Saturday, she got a babysitter for the kid's and we went to Mt. Vernon. George Washington's home was incredible. It was beautiful! It was so amazing visiting a place that was full of such history. We then went and picked up food at this unique little cafe/coffee shop, and got wonderful cookies at a bakery. It was so fun just hanging out and getting to catch up! When Ash and I are together even if we hadn't seen each other in a while, we just pick up where we left off.
Sunday, we went to the Redskins game. They played the Carolina Panthers. It was so fun getting to watch a game at that stadium, and it was incredible getting to see RG3 play. Even though the Redskins lost we had fun watching the game and getting to eat great food.
The weekend was so fun and I'm really glad that I went. It's amazing that they have gotten to live in so many neat places, and I have enjoyed getting to visit her at each place that she lives. She has been not only a cousin but a lifelong friend to me and I know we will be close until we are old and gray. It was such a treat getting to have a fun girls weekend with her.
